These days, the internet allows you to create your own business without any type of business degree or background. Has anyone conquered the online business owning? I was considering starting my own business to get out of debt. I read everyday how people have become online millionaires just by affiliate programs alone.

Hi Crystal, I've had a little online business for quite a few years now. I began it to help me pay off my debts. I still have it and now it's my source of savings and extra income. Lots of people think it's really easy to begin an online business an then make big bucks. It's really not that simple. it's still a business. It still has costs and responsibilities and there's work to be done on that business to keep it alive. If you're willing to put the work in, it can be a great way to boost your income.

Oh yes just like any other business out there, you must understand that starting and keeping a business in tact takes time and hard work. Working from home is a great thing but it isn't all that simple either. If you can manage to make your business work for you, even a little bit you may have something going for yourself.

We've been banging away online for a few months now looking for a LEGITIMATE home business opportunity. I have never personally known anyone who got rich online. I know it can happen and does but it is not as prevelant as the people trying to get you to sign up for a business make it out to be. If it were we'd hear more about it from real people and not internet marketers. Rule of thumb, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is and you are not ever going to start and maintain a business for 29.95. There is promotion, advertising etc. etc. I'm pretty sure in my search that the best way to make money online is good old fashioned commission sales though IF one could create a web site that would stand out in a very large crowd and attract alot of visitors and advertisers one might do well. Right time, right place, right product or service.

I love my little online home-business. I think it's a shame that I can't make it earn more than the little bit it does make, but every extra cent is a blessing, so I'm happy with it for now. Does anyone else have a website or home business that they can give some tips on?

Any business you hope to operate online requires ongoing marketing.  In fact, you should expect to spend 50% of your time just marketing your website and/or business products or services.  There are a few businesses that earn residual income (money you make on a recurring basis without having to do more work for it, but it's rare in my opinion). I have met people who make millions online.  A couple in australia invited me out to speak about writing as a business last year, and in one 4-day conference, they made over 4 million... really amazing stuff.  But they spend most of their time marketing, learning, and revising their strategies and processes.
