I'm sure there are a few of us here that use ways to save money. What are some of your favorites? Mine are: 1 - change jar 2 - take my own lunches to work (brown bag all the way!) 3 - compost and recycle my own food scraps into a worm farm/compost bin for great garden fertilizer 4 - grow my own vegetables and some fruit 5 - car pool to work How many more can we think of?

I think there are great deals on bulk food. If you find one on non-perishable food such as dry pasta, or canned goods, that could help save money. We shop quite a bit at Costco, but you have to pay attention to the prices. Not every huge package is a huge saving.

There are a couple I can think of. Dial down the thermostate a bit in the winter and don't run the air as much in the summer. If you can heat your home with wood, right now it's cheaper than natural gas or propane. Don't eat out as much, cut coupons, and do all your grocery shopping once a month. This cuts down on gasoline costs and limits impulse buying.

Here's a couple more ideas: 1 - I make my own dog food (I have two very hungry german shepherds). I mix good quality pet-mince with pasta, a heap of chopped vegetables and gravy mix into a big pan and cook. Then put it into meal sized portions into the freezer. It's about 1/4 the price of canned food and better for the dogs. 2 - I went to a local cooking class after work one night a week for about 6 months. Now the meals I cook are better quality than before, cheaper to make (because I know what I'm doing) and we don't need to eat out! 3 - Dig around on the 'net for free recipes for your favorite foods. There's thousands to choose from

Gee! It seems no one actually wants to SAVE money - they only want to pay off the crippling debt! Scary. I prefer to save it so I'm not spending as much, which leaves me more to pay off my debts that were caused by not spending carefully in the first place! Anyone else with ideas?

One way to save money is to recycle stuffs such as clothes, plastics, containers and other valuable materials. I also prefer to buy wholesale items rather than retail. It's where I can save more.

Well, mine are 1.Eat home cooked food.2.Recycle shopping bags.3.Buy clothes and other necessities only during sale.4. Travel by walking wherever possible. With the price of gasolin nowadays, I think this one can save us tons of money, no to mention it makes us healthier too.5.Try to use generic brand of handbag or medicine instead of the branded one. They work the same, the only difference is most of the time we pay for the brand name.

All great tips. Work online and save the money you make for "savings". Don't make Big purchases without having the cash up front- by the time you get the cash- you might not want it anymore. Use coupons always when shopping. Plan out meals for the week- makes grocery shopping cheaper.. go only 1 time a week to get everything you need.
