I'm struggling with the moral dilemma I'm facing as a result of my current financial crisis. I've always paid my debts. Facing at the least debt settlement along with the fact that there are still social implications and of course consequences with anything I do right now has resulted in alot of conflicting feelings. I made the debt, I need to pay it at all costs. Right ? The creditors however have all of my information, debt, income etc. ? Why did they approve more than I could afford ? Why are they allowed to break the law all the time ? I've paid fees in the past for late charges when there is no way it was late with no recourse so why should I feel guilty now ? Let's face it, our system is set up now to where the average person can't live without credit at least when it comes to buying a home or a car. Given this where does the fault lie ? I want to pay my debt but I'm frustrated with the mentality of the creditors and I don't want to make a bad decision in resolving this. The last thing I want to do is declare bankruptcy but again, what difference does it make ? My credit is already seriously damaged for years to come. Your thoughts ?

Creditors are here for one thing, that is to take money not give it. So what they are doing especially now is something that you should expect. I agree with Ruthep try to find some authorities who can help you...

You can talk to the creditor/collector and agree on some terms. You can make a settlement that can be made payable in a certain period of time. But let us also not forget that whatever our credit limit be, it is still our sole responsibility if we are going to use it all up or just live within our means.
