lou (Guest) - despite what your president and your paystubs say, this $400 stimulus is not like the last one we got (the tax-free $600 checks). you are not getting any additional money that you didn't already earn. all that has changed is the payroll withholding table, which calculates how much the IRS takes from you each week. the amount the IRS takes is only an estimate, and most people usually get refunds. but with this "$400 stimulus", if you got a $400 refund last year and your income remains the same this year, you will get no refund. basically $400 of your regular refund is being paid out early. you could get the same result by asking your employer to raise the withholding number on your W-2. so plan ahead! you will have $400 less in your refund check for the 2009 tax year!
haimanyam - good article which has a lot of info in it nice one
- nice information.keep it
- ok ok. i ove to know these things
- you're blessed to have a president who's looking after your welfare unlike here in our country where only us, the ordinary folks, are suffering. while those up there are enjoying the money we worked hard for.
scgodess - i noticed it in my paycheck already.  It seems to be slightly more than $13.  Is it possible you get more for children like before?  Hey i don't complain though.  Any more money is good money when it comes to my paycheck.
szack - good luck
- it may be a small amount, but we can still put it in a good use.
nagasri - Lets hope for the best. Thank you for your information.
parulg - I had heard about it in news. Lets hope it works out.
- Firstly clear my debts.. and later concentrating on other things.. i hope these stimulus packages work out in a right way..
varushar - Hoping Obama and his team can do something to get out of this recession time.
- Well, no matter how small you think it is, it's still money and could amount to something if it adds up.  We never experienced this kind of monetary relief from our government.
shruthi - we can hope for the best
- I think it is nice!
- good wriiten.
thank u for giving me the information....
beautyqueen26 - They're really giving us all another bonus check from the government? That's cool!
But I doubt that my family is going to be getting any kind of check since the US treasury started absconding with our money. Everytime we get a refund or bonus check of any kind, they take it away and apply to a defaulted student loan (from about a decade or more ago. So I'm sure none of this extra money will help us in any way except to reduce a debt slightly. And, even then considering the fact that they keep tacking on fees every year, I don't imagine the money will help anyone. Thanks anyway! But, if we did get a stimulus check, I think we'd use it for three months worth of electrical bills. Though I hear that the price of electricity is about to double due to the electric tax. How crazy is that?
rosiej - Looks like I could be getting it already on my check, but, they take more taxes out of that too, right, but, anyways. A little bit more on any check each payday really helps and if some of it can be saved or put in savings, awesome. I can even use it to go toward another unexpected bill, hence (utility) (car insurance) for what little bit it is...!!
- Do you know hwen that is supposed to happen?  Not that an extra $13/week isn't helpful but it is also so small I may not even notice it there. I think I heard it wouldn't happen until after April.  Do you know if that is true?

Thanks!!
Terry (Guest) - $13.00 a payday. Again, the congress must be brain-dead. That amount of money is meaningless, especially with gas prices at $2.15 and 9/10.
buggles - Any extra money from the government will be thrown at debt.  And $52.00 will be enough to keep one of my credit cards current, that is a real blessing in disguise.
