(Guest) - For crying out loud you people representing "get out of debt" businesses should find another place to sell your wares. It is my understanding that this is for people to blog about their experiences and feelings about credit cards.

(Guest) - Let me guess, was this credit card the GM Credit Card?
I've seen all sorts of dirty things credit card companies will do but honestly I think this is about the lowest! I'm shocked at how low they will go for the almighty dollar. They are disgusting! Now I'm even more motivated to

- I didn't know that in the US, they could pull out the 0% once it took effect. It should still be 0%, even if the credit limits went down.

(Guest) - I received credit counseling through this one website credit-card-debt. They lowered my rate without even hurting my credit score! It was the best thing I ever did! Hope this helps!

Funny about Money
(Guest) - @Jason: The problem is, the credit card issuer will have dinged her credit, making it difficult or impossible to transfer the debt to another creditor.
This sounds like an issue for a regulatory agency. Find out where the card issuer's headquarters are located and address the banking commission in that state. First, it's unfair for them to zing you with a 22% interest increase when the "late" payment was their doing--they changed the due date, not you--and then it's outrageous to lower your debt ceiling below the amount you'd already charged with their approval. That has got to violate some sort of contract, whether explicit or implicit.
I believe there's a federal banking commission, too. The attorney general in this outfit's home state also might be interested in these doings.
HelpMePayOffMyDebt
- I had a similar experience, except, not nearly as bad. They reduced my credit card limit so I could no longer put all of my monthly payments on the card, and then pay that one off (it was for convenience, not necessity). So, I had a couple late payments as well.
Debt Management
(Guest) - It's really sucks when credit card companies do these things, we got surprised when we do see some extra charges we don't even know or agreed beforehand. I think it's unfair that we got to pay those ghost fees.
Hope you got back your debt free life.

Jason
(Guest) - I have had my credit get lowered below my balance before as well. I ended up just transffering the balance to a new card and paying it off that way. I find its best to do so in order to keep your rates down. Remember your goal is to get rid of the debt and keep a high credit rating. If you have a card that a lower approved amount than the balance they will decrease your overall score as well.
