Debt Destroy
Sarah (Guest) - I pay $0.75 a week for the paper, and use at leas $10 worth of coupons from EVERY weeks paper, so it is worth the cost of the paper. One coupon will pay for the paper.
coupon myzerr (Guest) - I have found this amazing website named Myzerr.com for downloading coupons at home. Recently they have a new free of charge iPhone app as well so that I can download any kinds of coupon anywhere regardless im in the States, or in Australia or in UK.

super handy stuffs, highly recommended. :D
K (Guest) - I'm starting a buying diet so this info helps alot.  I'm going to sit down tonight and plan meals with the kids and hubby.  Thank you so much!
amanda (Guest) - Creditors are more than willing to settle people's debts, but it takes the right knowledge of how debt negotiation works. There is a wealth of information about the processes of debt negotiation, bankruptcy, fixing your credit, and much more at www.credit-advisors.com
Luvcoopons (Guest) - To be honest, both methods can be combined for even greater savings! Purchase the paper or visit Walmart's website for weekly savings, compare with coupons for the week-create your menu and additional list for necessary household items. Go to walmart, follow the list, use the coupons that you found in the paper...ONLY BUY ITEMS ON SALE FOR THE WEEK THAT YOU HAVE COUPONS FOR!!! On average, I save 70-80% each time I shop. For example, buying $100 (before sales and coupons) worth of groceries/merchandise minus sales, club card, etc helps bring down the amount 30-40% then deduct coupons brings you down and additional 30-40%. Meaning $100 brought you to a $20 total bill! A little time and effort can be worth it!!
melissa (Guest) - Actually I was not impressed by this menu/savings example. The menu was full of starchy high carb items (not healthy and we have a diabetic). Leftovers were served on 3 nights. (My family would balk). The only extra household item that was purchased was toilet paper. The bill was around 60 bucks for everything.

I currently shop for a family of four which includes 2 kids. I can get much more variety, no leftovers, and all my diapers/paper towels/tp/household needs for around 110.00 per week at Wal Mart and that is with NO time and effort required for coupon clipping. We also save money by not taking the paper which you have to factor in to your overall budget (is it worth getting the paper for the coupons?). All I do is look for the Great Value brand on everything I can. Some things we do spend for the name brand such as diapers and ketchup.

We buy the 1.00 packs of toilet paper at Wal Mart and get 6 rolls. It only goes down the toilet anyway, why buy the fancy stuff ?

Also, we shop at Dollar General for our laundry detergent and Dollar Tree for our cleaning supplies.

oreocookie3 - I know you can save money with coupons, but when I go to the store, or my daughter goes for me... we either forget to take the coupons, or forget to use them when we have them. I sent my daughter for a coupon for FREE 2 liter of Dr. Pepper... she still came home without using it. GRRRRR!

- Very nice one. it is true planning
- I've done the coupon thing before. I just don't get to do it that much since I don't get the paper regularly. These are still all good ideas.
Number1Femme - That is wonderful! My mom clips Sunday newspaper coupons every week and always buys the sale items. It really is helpful and does tend to save a lot of money. :) I recommend this article to everyone.
- wow, you did save a lot from those coupons. bad for us we don't have that coupon thing here.
akhil4u6 - These coupons would really help me..Thanks very much..I spend 120 dollars a week for shopping..Hope I can reduce some amount as you did.
- my dad has always done the coupon thing, and i used to find is so embarrassing especially as a kid, maybe now im a starting to understand why he does it! this is really interesting - well done!!
- Having a list really helps. Prioritize what you need to buy. Buying in bulk also helps.
- Its good to make a list of things to buy before heading to grocery store.  Check your kitchen cabinets, list the things that is really needed in the kitchen, check shampoos, soaps,  tissue papers,  and also check your refrigerator. There are many things  that wou want to buy that is not actually needed at home. Some people will go buy a lot of canned goods, but end up having them expired inside the cabinet. Its not wise spending of money.
zedlav23 - Great example of budgeting and maximizing your money's worth. It's really amazing that in this time of crisis, every penny counts. I guess this is ultimately the better side of recession, we start to learn how to save and budget. I hear a lot of people try to save from here and there with there expenses and how they no longer through those loose coins but put it in a piggy is a rather refreshing development and hopefully would continue even if the recession is over.
- Earlier I use to ignore sale days and discount coupons. Now I keep a track of them and save money. It really helps.
Shaunee72 - I try to look at the paper and print coupons from my computer to help me to save money on grocery shopping.
gracie04 - I try to buy on sale so I would be able to save lots of money... and yes, bulk shopping too..
Tam - i was recently just introduced to the magic of coupons and is excited to see how much i can save using them. imagine the savings! this is a concrete excample and i must say, i am impressed!
tennissandgirl - That is way awesome that you saved so much. I am going to have to try that soon. Though, we have been trying to go when their are sales as our small town doesn't like to double coupon. Thanks for the article!
jebsmommy - I've also started bulk shopping (buying as many items I have coupons for). It may cost alittle more the first week, but each week I have alittle more money to do more bulk buying. Last month I didn't have to go to the store for 2 weeks. .
- I try to buy on sale and i make a point of using coupons i have. I like to set  the money i save with coupons aside in a tin for a special savings. I started that 3 months ago and have over 50 dollars saved - not sure what will be done with it in the end but its a nice little savings i know i have.
- Wow that's a lot of savings! I'll try to use coupons now.
thinkingoutloud - I think there is still a stigma attached to using coupons--much like it was mentioned at the beginning of the article, some people are uncomfortable taking extra time at the checkout by handing a stack of coupons to the cashier.  No one should feel this way.  Cashiers are (or should be) trained in how to handle coupons correctly and, if there is any substantial delay, the shopper should not feel responsible.  The time spent standing there is absolutely worth the bottom line saving.
beautyqueen26 - I just bought a printer and will now be able to print online coupons.  Hopefully the local Walmart will accept them!   just posted some more online printable coupon links and freebies on my Destroy debt blog.  Please take a look.  Thanks.

Free coupons and free samples
- It is a good method,thank you .
- It is a good article ....We should always try to minimize our expense.so these tips are worth
shinkai03 - When it comes to budgeting, housewives are the expert, that's why most of them handle this kind of things, Great article!
jayguar - A nice article on the benefits of using coupons to reduce costs and save money.
highspirits - This is a very useful thing. People dont realize how much you can save. They should understand it reading your article. For everyone who frequents Walmart - Check out their Free Samples section in their website and request a free sample. Normally, you also get couple of coupons for your future purchases
shinkai03 - Great explanation! We should rather be wise nowadays. Thanks for your considerate article.
john4745 - yes i like the idea but think about grocery stores now a days try and compete with each other hence you may find difference in price structures in every store some sell cheap but other show discounts and other keep their margins and sell stuff hence you would need to study the market before you go shoping
aliaslucs - great advice, thank you for your great tip its very helpful to us
shaista - this is really good idea, so now i figured out how to save money in many ways specially on grocery budget, i wll try this on my own grocery budget also. i never think about coupons before, such a helpful idea.
rofizarkasih - Great money saving tips! Unfortunately, there is no such thing like grocery coupons in my country. What a pity... When shopping, I just strict to the product list I need to buy.
-
wow..... you are realy woman. Thank for information
- Very nice article...
sandalwood - All of the supermarkets in our neck of the woods also have coupons at the rack for the items in the rack. For example, soup. The manufacturer issues coupons and the store puts them right on the rack in front of the soup. These coupons are redeemable in addition to the coupons you may already have that particular brand.

The next time you are in your grocery store check out the coupons hanging from the racks. You may just save even more.
notlistening2 - Yes this is a great article, I like to save money on my grocery bill, because I notice I spend too much money on food every month, so this way of saving money, on my food bill will help me out.
rebelmel - This is a great post! Thanks for the suggestions and links! I have been trying to come up with ways to save each week on groceries without eating on a shoe string budget.
sweetseoul - we don't have discount coupons in our country :(
but of course, I agree with your idea of making a list of food needed for the week before going to the grocery.
- well nice one.here in our country there's no discount coupons only  discount card..less of 1% of the amount of the item..quite small but it helps..
austenfan - Hmm, that's certainly a good thing to consider. I never really pay attention to coupons. By the way, some restaurants offer coupons as well, which can be used for lowered prices of their food selections.
Multima$tery - Great grocery shopping tips!  You're so right making a least (or at the very least a mental list) is an effective step in saving on groceries.  I don't really use coupons that much because lately I have been purchasing a lot of store brand items that are cheaper and oftentimes just as good or better than name brand.
shruthi (Guest) - This article is  not effective to all countries. the conditions is different according to the places people lives .
WoolF - how right you are...for just some every-day items you pay up almost your entire paycheck. and they keep getting more expensive everytime you go!
sophie_dfuss - Thats great, but discount coupons in groceries in my country are not available.
highspirits - I do keep the coupons and use them whenever I go shopping.
Cfrance - I have a set amount i spend on grocery shopping but I don't use coupons much. I find they are for stuff I don't use.
Taface412 - I remember growing up my mom was the coupon and rebate queen.  She always had deals coming in the mail and I now carry on this tradition.  My friends think I am crazy for taking the time to clip and even search the net for savimgs, but with the combo of coupons, freebies and in store savings (with a shopping card) I save quite a bit.  My biggest savings in one shopping trip once was around $40....now that was quite nice.
jasper - wow.....this is really awsome....am a student and i really need to learn how to save coz i really suck at it i go to the shop and when i come out i just bought three items and im soo down pocketwise....thanx
- Oh, this discussion  will definitely help me. Your thorough presentation of the topic is very informative. I'll get that coupon too.
Carolyn - Well that is certainly an eye opener. I know that if I do the fortnightly shop by myself, I don't spend as much as when I go with husband and son.

If I don't really need something, I won't get it. The others would quickly fill the trolley while I was still looking at my list.
- Most of the time the lists are not working as we ahve to change our plan as per our the decision of our spouse after reaching the shop
- Keep writing this types of article. This is very useful article to save money.
jasmeet - wow wonderful shows what committed effort to cut expenses does to your daily life, in the end it all adds up.
- I am an avid coupon user and I have to say it is the only way I have been able to afford to feed my family of five. I save at least $20 a week regularly and this is with little effort. When I really try to save I can save much more. I also take advantage of rebate offers when I can find them.
- Wow nice saving tips.  Very helpful indeed. This post is really helpful that moms and other shoppers needs to read. Thank you for sharing..
Carolyn - Wow! I'm convinced.
- Thank you for this post it really showed a difference.  I try and get the best deals and watch for specials. I do not really plan meals and my list usually consists of essential items needed and I kinda plan as I go and buy things that will last longer than a week so that I only have to shop once evry other week instead of once every week. Thanks again.
beautyqueen26 - Amazing! Even a fifteen dollar savings is huge and can really add up, especially considering that you can put that extra amount into an interest bearing account or pay down on the credit card debt.
citrusemma - This is a great article, great tip, not enough people take advantage of the free coupons available!
jalucia - Using coupons has always been a fun way to save money for me.  It can be time consuming, though.  You have to keep your coupons up to date and in order.  And, when using coupons, I'm not loyal to one store.  I search the circulars for the store with the best price(s) for the week.  A lot of stores also still do rebates, now online.  And, certain stores just have the best deals on staples, all the time.  Such as Aldi's, where I got a gallon of milk for $1.89 where other stores are still charging over $3.  Saving money can claim your time.  But, it's usually worth it.  Nothing is for free.
busybee00 - I agree with you. I love the one about making a list and sticking to it. I have found this to be very benficial with my grocery shopping. Another thing I do is grocery shop at smaller local markets rather than these huge superstores where I am likely to pick up extras that I don't really need.

You gave some really good tips here. Thanks for sharing with us!
- You have really given some nice tips on saving on grocery. But, it's easier said than done and people need to understand this first and then seriously consider this option implementing it in their life
- Wal-mart is a great place to get your groceries...not only do they take coupons, they also price match.  As long as you bring in a competitors sales ad, they will match the price.  You can bring in as may different sales ad as possible and get all the bargains right in one shopping trip!
- You are so right, using coupons and shopping the sales will help everyone stretch their food budget.
- I always use my bonus card when I'm shopping to recieve offers like 2 for 1 etc. I find that it saves me a lot of money as I end up buying products that save. E.g I buy 2 for 1 washing powder and it lasts me a long time but was cheaper.
Some coupons and offers mean you just end up buying more stuff which is not so good but I am a firm belever with coupons you do save money!
satyakam - Wow it is such a long  useful tips everybody will be benefited from this thanks for sharing.
- Though all seems to be the useful tips, but I am not able implement them as we don't have such grocery shops in our local. Hope I will be having in near future.
high interest savings (Guest) - Were running low on snacks, my husbands at work so no running to the store. UGH. My 4 year old can have pudding for a bed time snack but i'm not sure what to give my 13 month old. Maybe I'll cut up some apples for them.
v._.b - I agree that coupons and sales help you save money but this is only if you go with a very well planned list of things that you need to buy. Otherwise, more than often we end up buying the items which we did not require- just because they are cheaper now!
- The comparison between Before and After is really shocking. I do get sales advertisements from malls on my mail box, but they are thrown away as waste paper. And when hearing neighboring exchanging infomation about where and what are the discount, I felt rejecting. Downloading coupons is even farther for me to do. It seems time to make a change. Saving whether more or less should be reevaluated from an objective point of view.
Debbie - This week I saved another $47 using a combination of coupons and sales, bringing a $156 shopping trip down to $109.
buggles - A person can definitely save money by using coupons.  It's worth the time and effort.  I'm just getting started with "serious coupon shopping" and last month I saved over $40.00 just by using coupons and matching them to the sales.
