This year I got my federal return in exactly one week from the date I filed, much better than the time I went to the most popular tax store and had to wait over a week plus paying the fees for someone to look at my w2's and type the same info in I do each year. I like having the extra hundred or so.

- I made a little extra money filing taxes for neighbors online. Some don't have access to the internet, and they didn't want to go to a tax place.

- The IRS site is good, simple and free.But i pay my tax through lawyer.

The problem is my mom didn't work last year, so is my dad's earned wages the same with the adjusted gross income?

Katia - The program I used required a minimal ($15) payment for me to file my taxes because although I made less than $56000, I cashed some savings bonds this year and that type of income was not included in the free version. I was still happy though considering I have paid up to $50 for an organization to do my taxes for me.
