Debt Destroy
anne_20002002 - very useful article
- Really good principles. There are so many unexpected expenses, for which there is need to get prepared.

We have two invitations for weddings. One of my friends is ill. We are living in a community, so to keep in good terms with our friends is beneficial, but warmth on side will not last long, we have to make our contributions.
djonghs - I love this tips, thanks my friend.

thinkingoutloud - Based on some people I know, "living within your means" also means that just because you earn it, doesn't mean it's all yours to spend.

People have a way of "forgetting" the automatic payments they've set up to come out of their bank accounts and, when their paycheck goes in, a lot of it may go right back out.  A family member asked me to cash a check for her, telling me that her direct-deposit pay was going into her account overnight.  I gave her the cash.  Little did I know that there were so many immediate claims on her deposited earnings that the check she wrote me came back for insufficient funds.  I was never repaid a penny of that money either.

- I should let a friend read this article. She doesn't live within her means and has not paid her debt to me. It has been two years now since she borrowed money from me.
jasper - emergencys really do happen ....people should also consider insuarance more of saving for an unexpected event rather than a bill at the end of the month....i also learnt alot from this...thank you
- These are great principles to keep off debt. I saw on TV similar ideas, the so called envelope approach. The envelope could also be abstract in the form of budget form. Divide your income into three or more portions for the planned needs, and set 20% as compulsary saving from each envelope, to be saved or investement. By time, the achievements is surprising.

The current storm leads people back to the traditional thinking, instead of overconsumption without control. A side product we could appreciate.
