Did you know your local library has more than just books and informational videos? Just like it contains reference books as well as fictional books it also has information DVDs and comedies and dramas. I found this out a couple of years ago and once in awhile I will bring it up to people and they have no idea the library contains entertainment like this which costs nothing more than signing up for a library card.
Considering most libraries are now linked to the internet you can save yourself a trip if you have a specific movie in mind. You can simply log on to the library's server from the comfort of your on home and search through their DVD listings, place a hold and it will be waiting for you. Much better than having to drive to a video store and search out one. And if your library does not have the movie a lot of times you can contact the librarian and request it and through inner-library loan programs they can find it for you and wah-la you have the movie you want for several days with no fees whatsoever.
I know since I have been using the library to rent my DVDs I got very spoiled. Last year for the first time I wanted to get a new release and spent a whopping $6 for two movies for two days. Not to mention I was not even happy with the movies I rented.
So the next time you want to watch a movie load up the kids and head to the library. Who knows they might even want to check out a book or two. I know this revelation has saved me tons of money when it comes to entertainment.
