Best Ways to Save for College
Who can afford going to college in today's times? With constant bills that never end, constant debt, scholarships and financial aid will not be enough for everyone.
Here are some tips:
1) Consider a community college. Remember, college is what you make of it. You do not need a degree from Harvard or Yale to be somebody in this world. A community college will be a great place to start for many and will most likely offer financial grants to those who demonstrate financial need.
2) Consider going close to home. If you live with your parents and they are not on the verge of throwing you out, STAY! You will save much money in transportation, housing, etc.
3) Consider student loans
4) Parents! While children are still young, put $1.00 aside per day for their college fund. With time, that money will add up! If you put that $1.00 aside for a year, that is over $300.00 per year. If you do that for 18 years, you will have over $6500 saved for their college!
5) Consider scholarships. Many scholarships are thrown away or wasted because no one applies!
6) To get scholarships, you do not need to be an "A" student! That is a myth!
7) And lastly, call the school to which you are applying and ask them about grants and federal aid and compare and contrast before making your decision as to which school you will attend.
