Make your own cleaning products:

1.  Make your own laundry soap.

2.  Make your own window cleaner (vinegar and water)

3.  Make your own dishwasing detergent.

Avoid Fast food restaurants

1.  Eat your meals at home!

2.  Make extra and freeze for those extra busy nights.

3.  Plan a couple of meatless meals a week.

4.  Take your lunch to work. Or have your wife/husband bring your lunch to you and enjoy twenty minutes of the afternoon together.

5.  Leave your change at home, so the vending machine doesn't call your name.

Make mittens for the kids

1.  Use old sweatshirts and make the kids extra mittens for when their's are soaking wet!

(trace their hand around an old sweatshirt, turn inside out and sew together)

Shop the thrift stores and consignment shops!

Practice the 5 R's!  (recycle, reuse, repair, etc....)

- making your own soap doesnt look visible, though eating a couple of meatless meals a week will do you great :) healthier for your body and pocket :)
buggles - Some great meatless meals: 1.  Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup (a favorite with the kids) 2.  White Navy Bean Soup.  Hey, just put it in the crock pot, set on low.  Go to work, come home and enjoy with a few crackers. 3.  Split Pea Soup.  Same Scenario as above. 4.  Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches with a piece of fruit and milk. 5.  Milk Toast (poor man's diet)  Toast some bread,  butter and pour some warm milk on top.  This is delicious!! 6.  Vegetable Soup Most foods with a little creativity and seasoning can be made without meat. Lasagna, Spaghetti with just Ragu Vegetable Sauce, and goulosh. Hope this helps.
Carlo - Great items!  Have any meatless meal suggestions?
nishanthdoc1 - thanks buggles.i would love to check it out
buggles - Making your own laundry soap is very easy, and I love the way it smells.  Check out my blog and I'll post the directions.  This home made laundry soap makes your clothes smell like "sheets" that have been hung outside to dry.  A nice, clean, fresh scent.
